For fourteen years the four gentlemen of the Upper Austrian SPRING STRING QUARTET have been performing together in various concert halls in Austria, Europe and in the USA and in doing so they have been smashing all common clichés concerning string music and redefining the artistic forms of expression of the classic string quartet.

Several CDs llustrate the productivity of this ensemble. Ever since the cooperation with the American jazz legend Lee Konitz, at the latest, the SPRING STRING QUARTET ranks among the leading jazz-rock-classical-crossover string quartets of Europe.>

One of the highlights of their career so far was their debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 2007.

Since the beginning of 2009 the "Hells Angels of Virtuosity" have been giving concerts regularly with the German singer-songwriter Konstantin Wecker (e.g. in Munich, in Vienna, in Berlin and several other places).

The ensemble has also repeatedly cooperated with the Israeli-American composer and tenor saxophonist Ohad Talmor and other musicians from the New Yorker jazz scene.
